Vision: To protect, promote the welfare and lives of older persons, their dependants and community around them to live in dignity, security and peace
Purpose/objectives:
  1. Contributing to the community verall welfare and improvement
  2. Enhancing knowledge, skills and wealth
  3. Erasing miseries from the face of older persons, orphans, youth women and peopel with disabilities
Background: HOVOPA was started by a few senior humanistic citizens who  seriously felt sorry for what was suppressing older people. it was our duty to speak for the weak and destitute. God will reward.

  • Mobilisation and sensitisation of older persons
  • Distribution of materials- blankets, food  
  • Income generating projects

  • Orphan school fees project
  • Vocational training fro youth of grnadparents
  • House repair for older persons
  • Defending legal rights of older persons
  • Program to train peer educators/counsellors and home based caregivers who nurse people with HIV  
Priorities for the future:
  1. Expand our services to other sub counties in the district
  2. Involve more schools in the project of buying and sustaining uniforms hence creating orphan financial pools for those in school and for those dropping out.
